The Farm at Sunnyside

The Farm at Sunnyside is a 400 acre organic farm located in Rappahanock, Virginia.  In addition to growing organic crops, the Farm at Sunnyside is also being managed as a premier conservation property focused on implementing stewardship practices that benefit water quality, and wildlife and pollinator habitat.

Sustainable Solutions was contracted in 2009 to develop a prescribed fire plan for several of the grassland management units on the farm. In addition, Sustainable submitted a successful exemption request from the Virginia seasonal Burn Ban. In March of 2010, Sustainable's fire crew successfully implemented a prescribed fire on over 17 acres. In March of 2011, Sustainable fire crews burned 10.4 acres.
