World Wildlife Fund: Conservation Business Planning Workshop & Technical Paper Review
Sustainable was contracted by the World Wildlife Fund, Hungary chapter to present a conservation business planning workshop to the staff of the WWF:One Europe, More Nature (OEMN) project.
This 3 day workshop delivered key business planning concepts and tools to help the individual project managers develop clear business metrics for their conservation projects.
The workshop also included tours of the OEMN Hungary project. This innovative, multi faceted, project involves the local communities harvesting invasive species, burning the material in the local biomass plant, prescribed grazing to manage the invasives, and re-planting restored areas with Willow (Salix spp) as a sustainable source of biomass fuel.
In addition, Sustainable was contracted by WWF again in 2010 to provide technical review for the Forestry Chapter of the UNDP report entitled "Latin America and Carribean: BioDiversity Superpower". Sustainable provided technical writing, review, and research for this exciting chapter. Link to the forestry chapter can be found here.
